ETSF Nanoquanta

ETSF ROME

The ETSF (European Theoretical Spectroscopy Facility), is an ongoing project of 10 Condensed Matter Theory groups in the Nanoquanta European Network of Excellence. It is focused at the development of Theoretical Tools and ab initio Computer Simulation Codes with ambition to become the world-wide reference point for the quantum description of electronic Excitations and Spectroscopy in Condensed Matter Systems on the Nanometre scale. The aim is to create a trans-national professionally-managed knowledge centre in which expertise, theory and the associated software will be used in different ways according to the interest and background of the users. The Italian Nodes (Rome and Milan), together with the other nodes, are active in guaranteeing the creation of the ETSF as a lasting, independent and sustainable platform. Inspired by the example of common European Synchrotron facilities, the ETSF will be a very large theory facility, sharing the success and the productive collaboration of researchers from all over Europe.
Fields of interest are: Density-Functional Theory (DFT), Time-Dependent Density-Functional Theory (TDDFT), Many-Body Quantum Field Theory, Optical and Energy Loss Spectroscopy at Surfaces and Interfaces , Nanoscience.
