European Theoretical Spectroscopy Facility (ETSF)
The Press Release for the ETSF is now available for download: in English and in Italian. More to follow...Background Information
On June 1, 2004, the Network of Excellence Nanoquanta was born, as part of European Commission's 6th Framework Programme (FP6). We are proud to have been one of the network nodes, along with research groups in Italy, England, France, Spain, Belgium, Germany and Sweden. Nanoquanta built on the success of our previous group initiative, the Research Training Network Nanophase.
A recent European Commission report on co-operative efforts in nano-material research used Nanoquanta as a case study, citing our expertise in electronic structure of nano-systems, in quantum-mechanical theory and in computer simulation. Have a look!As part of our local Nanoquanta activities, we organized the first Nanoquanta members conference in Acquafredda di Maratea, Italy, in Sept. 2004. See the links in the Events section for further details.
Our expertise in calculating optical spectra of complex systems, coupled with our understanding of many body effects, was realized by the establishment of the ETSF which we helped to found.
